Kromer History

The Kromer Company was founded by O. W. Kromer in 1945 as an agricultural equipment company. Even in those early days, Kromer was committed to manufacturing the best quality equipment at a fair price. During the last 20+ years Kromer Company has been dedicated to using its engineering experience to produce the best athletic field maintenance equipment. Ease of use, superior quality and durability are our top priorities. We take pride in our achivements, but continuously challenge ourselves to excel in every aspect of our business. We want your Kromer experience to be rewarding and satisfying.

As of 2020, Kromer is under new ownership by long time employees Nathan Bergquist and Al Hentges.

Together, they have more than 30 years of combined experience with the company and the Athletic Field Maintenance industry.

Chances are if you call Kromer today you will talk directly with Nathan or Al. This is one of the luxuries of working with a small Minnesota, family operated business. We care about our customers  and pride ourselves on listening to their needs in order to make their job easier. We strive to create strong relationships with the organizations who purchase Kromer products to delivery precisely what they need for their athletic field maintenance equipment.

Co-owners Nathan Bergquist & Al Hentges

Nathan has been part of Kromer since early 2004 and Al joined the team shortly after.

Nathan started out as a temp worker for Kromer then was hired as full-time assembly worker. After five years of assembly Bergquist was promoted to shop supervisor for four years then from there moved to a Purchasing and Parts position, then promoted to Operations Manager up to the point of purchasing Kromer with Hentges.

Al began his journey with Kromer as a sales consultant in 2007. This included demonstrating, selling, and installing equipment to customers all over the county. Shortly after he moved up to sales management where he currently sets up Kromer dealers and installs equipment for sports facilities in the US and Canada.

The love for this company is the driving force for the company to continually innovate & deliver the best athletic field maintenance equipment in the game.
